Our Roots

Locally owned & operated since 2006

At Casey’s, we are always thinking outside of the box and coming up with fresh, new ideas. We are proud of how far we have come while not forgetting where we started. None of it would have been possible with our dedicated team and the support of our community.

2006 Open for Business

2006 Open for Business

Owner Casey Knigga, a 2001 a graduate of East Central High School, graduated from Cincinnati State with a degree in Turfgrass Management and Landscape Horticulture. He purchases the garden center and renames it Casey’s Outdoor Solutions. When the business first started, Casey did residential landscaping and some commercial. The garden center was open to the public to purchase mulch, topsoil, and gravel.

2007 A Floral Shop Is Added & More Changes

In 2007, Casey opened a floral shop to keep the garden center busy throughout the winter months when the weather would result in the landscaping side of the business to slow down a bit. That same year, the pond out front was drained and re-sculpted to make it much larger and visually more appealing than the original. That same winter, the crew laid each stone around that pond by hand. This proved to be a difficult task with the cold temperatures resulting in some of the rocks to be frozen together.

2008 A Turning Point

It seems 2008 was quite the turning year for us. We made the decision start carrying plants, trees, annuals, and perennials. We did pretty well our first year, so the next year we added even more. We also made some changes to the facade of the garden center.

2009 A Bridge Is Added

We decided to add a stone bridge to our expanded pond. Again, since the winter months are when we have time to tackle bigger projects, we were once again working in very cold weather. Since its completion, the bridge has been the location of many wedding, prom, and family photos.

2011 Here We Grow Again

In 2011 we decided we were outgrowing our garden center so that winter we gave the inside a major makeover. We expanded the showroom into an area that used to be garage space, added a spectacular area for the florist to do design work, and added gift items to be sold in our showroom.

2013 Outdoor Improvements

In the spring of 2013, we built an extra pergola to accommodate the growing demand for our hanging baskets. This new structure allowed us to offer many different sizes and varieties of colorful hanging baskets as well as provided additional visual interest to our garden center.

2014 The Log Cabin

In 2014 we added the 1850’s log cabin that is nestled in a corner of the property. The historic log cabin was originally built in Bright, IN and Casey dismantled it on site and started re-erecting it on the garden center property in 2012. Casey & his team would work on the cabin when time permitted, completing the project in 2014. The hand-chiseled stone fireplace inside is from another historic log cabin that was located near Laughery Creek in Aurora, IN.

2017 More Improvements

At Casey’s, we are always making improvements to better serve our customers. Early in 2017, once again we made changes to our showroom and garden center. We expanded our home décor, gifts, and wild bird departments as well as added an area for houseplants. We also launched our first redesigned website that is packed full of information and inspiration. At Casey’s, we are always growing, changing, and improving to make your shopping experience with us more enjoyable.

2018 Gift Shoppe

During the winter months of 2017 we started a major renovation and in 2018 we opened the doors to Casey’s Gift Shoppe. This expansion to our garden center provided more room for our floral designer to create her beautiful wedding and special event designs and the opportunity to offer shoppers in the tri-state area a place to shop year-round for unique gifts and beautiful home and garden decor. This area was once garage bays that housed our equipment and vehicles. As you can see, the end result is a beautiful shop that we are sure you will love to spend time browsing for the perfect gift for someone or even yourself.
