Casey, a 2001 graduate of East Central High School, graduated from Cincinnati State with a degree in Turfgrass Management and Landscape Horticulture. He began his own landscaping business in 2002 and after years of hard work and determination, opened Casey’s Outdoor Solutions in 2006.
Casey has an appreciation of historical buildings and antiques which he has incorporated on the property and in the garden center.
Kendra graduated from Cincinnati State Technical College with a Sustainable Horticulture degree as well as a Landscape Horticulture degree. Also during her time there, she earned certificates in Landscape Design & Sustainable Agriculture Management. Kendra joined Casey’s team in 2015 and is knowledgeable and passionate about various types of plants, but admits she’s particularly fond of working with and learning about large shade trees. Besides gardening, some of her interests include hiking, cooking, and traveling. Kendra’s zeal for working with plants and commitment to helping our customers makes her an extremely valuable asset to Casey’s.
Dan brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and expertise to the position of Garden Center Assistant Manager. Dan’s experience includes ten years at Miami University where he created beautiful gardens on the university’s campus and twelve years beautifying the grounds and golf courses at the Great Parks of Hamilton County. He also played a role in creating and maintaining the gardens at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens. Dan is a certified Master Gardener with the Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association and is a National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Landscaper Professional. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with Sammy, a beagle, basset, blue hound mix that is a bundle of energy and loves the water.
Whitney graduated from Cincinnati State in 2014 with an Associates of Arts degree. With 16 years experience as a floral designer, Whitney has an eye for design and detail that has not gone unnoticed in the floral industry. Several local wedding magazines have featured Whitney and her designs. Prior to working at Casey’s, Whitney spent several years as a floral designer at Murphy and Fairfield Florists where she established herself as one of the area’s best designers. Whitney makes a point to stay on top of today’s floral trends so you can be assured that your wedding day, event or arrangement that she creates is as unique as you. Though large events and weddings are her specialty, Whitney enjoys creating floral arrangements for all ocassions.
With over 35 years of floral design experience, Bonnie combines her gift of designing with her passion for flowers to create the perfect arrangement to express joy or sorrow. She started her career in the floral industry with training from the Indianapolis school of Floral design. Before owning two flower shops, Bonnie worked for Charles Burtschy Florist in Cincinnati, Ohio and Family Flowers and Gifts in Cleves, Ohio. Bonnie especially enjoys designing flowers for weddings and understands that the trends are always changing. Whether your wedding will be formal or casual, indoors out outside, she can help bring your wedding day vision to life.
Karen brings her sunny disposition and high energy level to work every day. She is often the first friendly face to greet you when you enter our garden center. She enjoys assisting customers with their purchases at the register and lending a helping hand or two whenever and wherever needed. Karen enjoys being outdoors, boating with family and friends, antiquing, and patio gardening and finds inspiration by being surrounded by beautiful plants.
Having worked in the “green” industry and volunteering at the Children’s Garden at The Bronx Botanical Garden while living in New York, Mona’s knowledge and passion for plants and nature has been extremely useful at Casey’s. Her love of gardening started when she attended the Waldorf School in Denmark where she studied organic gardening. Mona’s young daughter shares her passion for the outdoors and travel. They enjoy gardening, kayaking, hiking, and educational homeschool activities.
Deborah is a real asset to our team. As a young girl she learned the meaning of hard work while helping out on her grandparents farm which also gave her a real appreciation of vegetable gardening and plants that add beauty to the landscape. Although retired from her career, Deborah has brought her work ethic to our garden center. You can find Deborah watering and caring for our plants or anywhere else a helpful hand is needed. On her days off she enjoys spending time with her two grandsons.
Nora attended the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP Program and lived out west for several years. Never one to shy away from hard work, Nora is always ready to roll up her sleeves and help with any task needing done. She also puts her skills as a freelance artist to good use anytime we need an artistic touch. Always up for a challenge and learning new things, Nora enjoys working with plants and is also involved in helping a local realtor prepare homes that will be going on the market. Nora’s most important role is as a mother of 2 boys and caretaker of her elderly parents.
Whether it is outdoors or inside, Pam is always up for the challenge of taking an existing space and making it her own. She has a love of the outdoors and brings her creative thinking to our garden center. Pam is always ready to pitch in with caring for our plants or providing great customer service. Pam is also a licensed massage therapist and enjoys backpacking, biking, kayaking, camping, reading, cooking, and entertaining.
Tanya is a current student in the Landscape Architecture program at Ball State University. She has been a summer employee at Casey’s Outdoor Solutions since 2015. Beginning with landscape and horticulture classes in high school to her current design studios in college, her passion for the industry continues to grow working in the garden center. Tanya utilizes her growing skills by assisting customers and caring for plants in the garden center.
Kelly is vital for our day-to-day operations. Her role as Office Manager utilizes her multi-faceted expertise and organizational skills to make it possible for other employees to function effectively and efficiently. In addition to billing for services and employee payroll, Kelly assists with planning and organizing various activities and events. Kelly also updates and maintains office policies as necessary and her eagerness to pitch in whenever and wherever is needed is greatly appreciated.
